During our spring art installation for Annie, Jude Pingelski (the middle school art teacher) imagined a beautiful installation for multiple grades to participate in. The idea came from one quote by Van Gogh:
"I know nothing of certainty, but the sight of the stars make me dream." With this one quote, our sky became our canvas and our students' dreams became the subject.
For the month of September, 4th and 5th graders from Abram Lansing and Harmony Hill, as well as the students from the Cohoes Middle School, imagined their dreams - dream job, aspirations of who to be, best daydream. These dreams went from words to images on our "sky". We cannot thank our students enough for their constant bravery in trusting us as their teachers, and allowing us the "push" their creativity and imagination.
Yesterday, we spent the day with the amazing Proctors staff installing our sky high in the rafters by the entrance to the GE theater. For the next few years, anyone walking through Proctors will be able to walk under the dreams of our students.
